48pc Liquitex BASICS Paint SetDecember 19, 2013

I was able to take advantage of a great deal on for a set of Liquitex BASICS Acrylic Paint set. The set was discounted from $35 to $25 with a free 2 day shipping if you signed up for a trial of Amazon Prime (which I took full advantage of). I got my package in two days and was really happy with the buy. I consider this a steal even if you didn’t get a chance to take advantage of the extra $10 off. $38 for 48 tubes of paint which leaves them at less than $1 a tube, is a big steal! The tubes are a very generous size (22ml), twice the size of the cheap acrylic paints they sell in your local hobby/art store like Micheals.

I noticed on the review a few people had issues with the paint spilling out when they first opened the tube. Fortunately I did not have that problem. As well as that some complained the paint was a little too translucent. If you have ever bought the “BASICS” brand of paint you will know some of there colors are more translucent where others are more opaque. It really just depends on the color you choose to use. Their color chart will tell you which are TL (translucent) vs more O (opaque)
(just look on the 2nd page to your right under “COMPOSITION AND PERMANENCE CHART”)
